David Pitchford Precise details of the movie are:Location: Under the walkways of the Bullring roundabout (ie large circularroad junction) by Waterloo railway station, central London. This piece, photographed under the flyovers of the Bullring roundabout atWaterloo during Christmas evokes the bleak existence of the homeless ofLondon at this time of year. One eloquent, self-appointed spokeman toldme, "We don't only need accomodation - we can get that tomorrow if wewant; we also need someone to show us how to cope with it..."Date: Christmas 1995Comments: This is the most famous unofficial refuge for homeless people inLondon. A community of 50+ people exists here in shelters made fromcardboard boxes, palettes and wood (visible in the background). A sign tenyards away from here says fires are illegal, but broken palettes are alwaysburning here in winter and the police seems to turn a blind eye.I also have a high quality sound file of a homeless man from here playingcarols on his tin whistle, if you're interested. It adds discernable ambiance! D a v e P i t c h f o rd
