About Andromeda

`Andromeda' is one song from Liminal, an interactive `opera' (of sorts) on CD-ROM, with music by Glenn Rogers, and vocals by Andrew Foote, Penelope Reynolds and Samantha Podéu. The visuals are a mixture of live-action video of several 19th century cemeteries and their sculpture, edited together with a 3D computer-modeled reconstruction of Il Cimitero Staglieno in Genoa (one of the finest examples of 19th Century funerary architecture). The text of the song derives from `Pauline' (1833) by the English poet Robert Browning. Andromeda is a fairly romantic image of the liminality of death and its representations, mixed with some more humorous homage to the films of Ken Russell. Liminal received production funding from The Australian Film Commission and should be finished in early 1999.
