About October Dawn at Oakdale Farm - Bridgewater, CT. USA
R.K. Abbett, the fine artist greets the dawn at his Oakdale Farm in Bridgewater, CT. (October, 1998) Single Node, Streaming QTVR
I wanted a portrait of my Dad on the land that he loves. We both awoke early this October morn to watch the dawn. The fog rises up off of Lake Lilinoah as it winds its way between New Milford and Bridgewater. Not only did we get to share a dawn for the first time in ten years but I managed to catch a certain "Kodak Moment" that means more to me than words can express. R.K. always enjoys the dawn before he has coffee and climbs up into his studio (located above the garage to his right). On this day he planned to spend a few hours working on his latest commission, a painting of Walmart's Sam Walton, his son and their dogs, hunting duck in the brush of Arkansas. As he surveys the surrounding morning he watches deer feeding in the horse's field and Canada Geese flying by and circling to land on the Lake and the many ponds around the town of Bridgewater, CT.
