About Mt. Kenya - Hall Tarns camp
This series of panoramas was shot during seven weeks of filming a Discovery Channel documentary series in Africa. The three panoramas in this scene were shot from a single perspective at the Hall Tarns high camp on Mt. Kenya - one in the moonlight, one at dawn and one during the day.Mt. Kenya is perhaps one of the most beautiful mountains in all of Africa, although its 17,000' summit is second in elevation to Mt. Kilamanjaro. Mt. Kenya is considered a sacred and holy place - the home of Ngai (God) by local Meru and Kikuyu tribes. It was a true pleasure to have spent almost two weeks on the mountain with a tribal holy man and our guides, Iain Allen and Clive Ward of Tropical Ice, Ltd. Additional thanks to Jen Koestler and Denise Rocco, who rose above and beyond the call of duty in enthusiastically facing the challenges of the mountain throughout the entire climb, as well as to Jim Burroughs, the producer of the Quest series.
